Summer TV

remember when there was nothing but reruns on during the summer.  you would spend all that time counting down the days until the Fall TV season would start.  Those days are over.  Summer TV is now just as exciting (in some cases better) as Fall TV.

I have watched Falling Skies on TNT since episode one – it is a great show and i am a big Noah Wylie fan and not just because we share a last name :-).  If you love Sci-Fi then you should be watching.  It is on its last session now so it is a great time to binge watch.

I have also watch Rookie Blue from the beginning.  I am a fan of Missy Peregrym and cop shows so it was only natural that I would watch this.  I do enjoy it and wish that it was on more than just the summer.

Last summer i started watch The Strain on FX – this is a great show with a vampire twist.  the only problem i have with this show is that it is only one 1 day a week for the summer.

A new show i started watching this summer is The Astronauts Wives Club.  i usually watch more sci-fi/mystery shows but I saw the preview to this and it has Yvonne Strahovski in it (I loved her as Sarah in Chuck) so I thought I would give it a try.  After watching the first episode I still wasn’t sure but decided to give it another episode and I’m glad I did.  The second episode totally hooked me and I look forward to watching this every Thursday night.  After the second episode I was on Wikipedia reading all I could about the original astronauts and their wives.  My sister started watching this around the 4th episode (caught up on demand) and we now watch it together.  There is only 1 episode left :-(.  Not sure if there is going to be a season 2.

I also started watch Scream the TV show on MTV.  I love the movies so I thought I would see what this was about.  Love it – I can usually figure out who the killer is on TV shows but with this one I’m just not sure.  Are they going to stick to the movie and have it be her boyfriend and his friend?  but then she breaks up with her boyfriend and hooks up with the new kid in town – so will he be the killer?  I’m just not sure yet. there are only 3 episodes left for the season and they are advertising that they will reveal the killer.

A few other new shows that I have started watching and enjoy are Killjoys on SyFy and Zoo on CBS.  I also DVR Geeks who Drink and watch this – because of my love for Zachary Levi and everything that he does. 🙂

I enjoy these summer TV shows but I’m also excited that the Fall TV season is almost upon us.  🙂

Magic Mike XXL

I was finally able to connect with my sister and go see Magic Mike XXL today.  The story wasn’t as great as the story from the first one but I still enjoyed it, because lets be honest we didn’t go to see this movie for the story.  Its all about Channing Tatum and he does not disappoint.  Sometimes it is easy to forget that he is such a great dancer. The first Step Up movie stills holds a special place in my heart even though i think that some of the later once are better, I really like Step Up Revolution.  I have a fondness to dance movies and was excited when i hear that tWitch would be in the movie.  Also quick shout out to Michael Strahan for his cameo – loved it – who knew he could dance like that.:-)

I will be writing about the movie below with some plot points so please do not read below if you haven’t seen the movie and do not want to be spoiled.

The movie starts 3 years after the first one, with Mike living in Tampa running his own custom furniture business.  He quickly connects with the rest of the Kings of Tampa and they start their journey to Myrtle Beach for the Stripper Convention.  (do they really have a stripper convention every year?)   On the way to Myrtle Beach they stop in Jacksonville at one of their old haunts and have some fun along with a great stop in Savannah were they meet up with Jada Pinkett Smith (Rome) and Stephen “tWitch” Boss (Malik), a quick overnight stop in Charleston before getting to Myrtle Beach.  The adventures that they get into on the way are entertaining with Joe Maganiello’s little dance in the gas station to the Backstreet Boys “I Want it That Way” being a highlight.  Of course, i am a HUGE BSB fan and love to see and hear references to them in movies (a quick shout out to This is the End).  Once they arrive in Myrtle Beach they hook up with Rome, Malik and Andre and work on their routine for the convention.   I loved the separate dance routines for the guys leading up to the finale with Mike and Malik doing the mirror dance.  The dancing was great and who all at that moment wanted to be Amber Heard.  Channing and Stephen nailed it at the end.

If you like dance movies and want to see hot guys taking it off and shaking their things then this is the movie to see.

Wilder: The Guardian Series

I am fortunate enough to know the author of this book personally and had the privilege to read an unedited rough draft. I read it on my way back from a weekend in Savannah and couldn’t wait to come in to the office so I could tell her how much I enjoyed it and ask if she was planning a series; luckily, she is. I thought the story was great and the characters engaging. When she told me that it would be released June 15th, I started counting down the days and ordered myself a copy the day it came out. I couldn’t wait to re-read and see how it blossomed from the original draft that I read.  And I was not disappointed.  The book was fantastic!  The story was just as entertaining as the first time reading it, from the new prologue to the last page.  Celeste is a great character; I enjoyed reading about her becoming a guardian and cant wait to see what she will do next.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves supernatural stories and to those who like supernatural romances.

TV Show: Stalker

I finally watch the last 2 episodes of Stalker last night and WOW! they were really good – did not go in the direction that I thought.

Spoilers below:
I figured that Ray would make his move and I kind of figured Perry would die, he was starting to realize what a psychopath Ray really is, but I didn’t think that Ray would take Beth/Michelle. And poor Ben – totally didn’t see that coming.
I really hope that CBS renews or at least shows the remaining filmed episodes so that we can have some kind of closure with Ben and Beth/Michelle/Ray.

HI!

Hi!  my name is Robin and I thought I would give blogging another try.  🙂  I use to blog on tumblr, I still post sometimes but usually just pictures from my instagram account.

I little about me – I love to read, watch TV and going to the movies, although I don’t go to the movies as much as I like since it can get expensive.  I am excited about Insurgent, the next Divergent movie, that is coming out this weekend.

Right now I am reading A Storm of Swords, A Song of Ice and Fire #3 – I am a fan of the Game of Thrones TV series and decided I would read the books while waiting for the next season to start.  They are really good, so far.  I like to read all kinds of books.  Harry Potter is one of my favorites.  A few of my favorite authors are Janet Evanovich, Iris Johansen & Meg Cabot.  I will read pretty much anything that they write – along with JK Rowling aka. Robert Galbraith.

I also watch a lot of TV; I never miss an episode of Criminal Minds.  I pretty much have at least one show that I like on everyday of the week.  A few of my favorites: CSI, Supernatural, Grimm, Pretty Little Liars, NCIS, Blue Bloods & The Walking Dead.

That is just a little about me.  🙂
